Curriculum Guide

Inside the Music

The Philadelphia Orchestra School Concert program has been created as a meaningful arts-integrated learning experience for students and teachers, an enhancement to the existing classroom environment.

Bring the full experience of The Philadelphia Orchestra to your students with our supplemental resources designed to help you integrate orchestral music into your existing classroom curriculum. Our accompanying curriculum guide, Inside the Music, is designed for use in many different instructional settings as part of a comprehensive education that includes the arts. Lesson plans have been designed for use in grades three through five and can easily be adapted to meet the needs of your learning environment. To enhance instruction, the Orchestra also provides teachers with recordings (at no extra charge) of the concert music to use in the classroom.

Inside the Music for the 2015-16 Philadelphia Orchestra School Concert program, Play Us a Story: Peter, the Wolf, and Friends, will be available for download in September 2015.

The 2015-16 School Concert Curriculum Guide is made possible by the Volunteer Committees for The Philadelphia Orchestra.
